The dot SE country-specific domain extension was established in 1986 and given to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration procedure was quite restrictive, so a very limited number of domains were registered. Persons were allowed to buy only one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was a must, i.e. merely Swedish persons, companies and organizations could grab a dot SE domain.
