Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a website inside its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the other websites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your Internet sites up-to-date, but it'll significantly minimize the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

You can take full advantage of JailHost with each and every shared hosting plan that we offer and protect your Internet sites against attacks really easy. Every single domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel that comes with our solutions has a separate folder and contrary to what often happens with other Control Panels, the content is not mixed in just a single main folder, so keeping your websites separate is a lot easier. Allowing JailHost for any website takes only a few clicks, so even if you do not have much experience, you won't need any special skills in order to keep your sites risk-free. The option is not active by default in case that you'd like to use some script that requires access to an additional folder in your account. If you use JailHost, the rest of the Internet sites that you have will be secured, but even a hacked one will not remain affected for too long because we'll have a couple of daily backup copies for it all of the time, so that we could promptly recover it.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers

JailHost comes with all of our semi-dedicated server plans and you'll be able to activate it with several clicks. It is not activated by default as we do not want to prevent some scripts which require to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You will be able to activate JailHost for all other sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this effortlessly even when you do not have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia manages multiple domains - they all have individual folders which could be "locked". In contrast, other well known Control Panels feature add-on domains and their content is kept in the primary domain folder, so if a single website is hacked, the entire account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. In case an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we shall be able to recover it the way it was without delay because we'll keep a few daily backups of your entire account.
